Dr. Scott Wolfe is a Clinical Psychologist and Certified Gottman Method Couples Therapist and Workshop Leader who practices in Columbia, Maryland. To find out why certification is important please visit Gottman.com.
Dr. Wolfe has specialized in individual and couples counseling for over twenty-five years and has helped hundreds of couples and individuals struggle through their darkest times to find their full potential.
In addition to being personally trained in couple therapy by Drs. John and Julie Gottman, Dr. Wolfe has trained with leading family therapists at his predoctoral internship with The University of California, San Francisco and at the California School of Professional Psychology-Fresno (APA Fully Approved) where he completed his doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology. Later he was on the Adjunct Faculty there and taught Marital and Family Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy on the graduate level.
Dr. Wolfe has also completed Advanced Training and an Advanced Externship in Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy (EFT) with Dr. Susan Johnson and senior EFT trainers at the International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy iceeft.com. Dr. Wolfe integrates EFT and Attachment Theory into his work with both individuals and couples. Finally, he also has been a clinical supervisor for Loyola College in Baltimore and has been a consultant for The Johns Hopkins University research program "Keeping Families Strong."
In addition to his expertise in individual therapy with adults and adolescents, Dr. Wolfe's specialized areas of expertise in couple therapy include marital enrichment, premarital assess-ment and counseling, parenting, couple com-munication and intimacy, affair recovery, infertility distress, sexual issues including frequency and desire, same sex couples, and step-family parenting. Dr. Wolfe also provides marathon couples coaching sessions (intensive sessions of two or more hours) for couples in crisis, couples on the brink, or for couples coming from out of town where there is no Certified Gottman Couples Therapist available.

PATRICIA GIBBERMAN, LCSW, BCD is a Board Certified Diplomate in Clinical Social Work with a Master of Social Work and Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh. She is a certified Gottman Method Couples Therapist, Art and Science of Love Couples Workshop Leader, and Level One Trainer, who has helped hundreds of couples to deepen their connection, enhance their communication, and create shared meaning in their lives together, even helping couples who are on the brink of divorce to turn their relationship around.
In addition to being personally trained in the Gottman Method by Drs. John and Julie Gottman, Ms. Gibberman has also completed advanced training in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT) with Dr. Susan Johnson and senior EFT trainers at the International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy and the Washington Baltimore Center for EFT, as well as having trained in a Psychobiological Approach to Couples Therapy (PACT) with Dr. Stan Tatkin of UCLA. She integrates these research-based methods into her work with couples.
While Ms. Gibberman has worked with all age groups from children to the elderly, focusing on a wide range of mental health issues, relationship issues, and life challenges during her thirty years as a clinical social worker, she now specializes almost exclusively in couples therapy. Her areas of special interest and expertise include premarital couples, attachment issues, parenting issues, recovery from infidelity, sexual intimacy, emotional regulation issues, blended family couples, gay and lesbian couples, cross cultural couples, and the special challenges of couples within the military, the foreign service, and the intelligence community.
In addition, Ms. Gibberman has taught continuing education classes at Northern Virginia Community College and Greater Washington Society of Clinical Social Workers and speaks to community groups on various topics relating to marriage and relationships. She is in private practice in Fairfax, Virginia.
